2022 UPDATE

STUDENT RESOURCES

LATIN RESOURCE NOTEBOOK

    1. Left Pocket - Vocabulary Resources  by Lesson and by Part of Speech
    2. Middle - Charts and lots of HOW TO RESOURCES  - I print pages 14-24 in color.
    3. Right - Grammar Q&A

I print these pages and place in a 3 prong folder.
I do not like these resources to be in the same folder as the exercises.  Students should be able to open their charts while they are doing exercises to not have to flip back and forth.(This is a great resource for parents to quiz their own students)

THE STUDENT WORKBOOK

The student workbook is divided into 4 sections

        1. Vocabulary
        2. Grammar (& Charts)
        3. Exercises
        4. Readings

Students should work in each section of their notebooks EVERYDAY.  I just have students include a removable tab for each section.  That way they can flip to exactly where they need to be each day.

Semester 1 (180 pages) black & white printing

Latin Dictionary OPTIONAL - This is an option for listing vocab instead of making flashcards.  If your student hated flashcards, they could make one of these instead of flashcards for 1 semester to see if that helped them memorize better.  (Semester 1 is all REVIEW from Challenge A)

Semester 2 (161 pages) black & white printing

I recommend a spiral-bound book for each semester.

PARSED SENTENCES

These are parsed and labeled sentences from the lessons using the system described in the Latin Resource Notebook (LRN)

LATIN TUTORIAL VIDEO LINKS

This is my favorite set of grammar explanations that are free on YouTube.  The Latin Tutorial guy does a GREAT job explaining the grammar behind this.
Don't forget to your resources on the new CC Connected they are super helpful!

Vocabulary Quizzes (Paper version)
Here is a printable quiz.  Fold in half lengthwise and take the quiz.  Unfold to grade it.

You also can just verbally quiz your student.  You can do this from their flashcards or from the Vocabulary list in the left pocket of the LRN.  Quiz them, count how many they got correct and how many they had in total, and record the score on the last page of the LRN. I recommend doing ALL the vocabulary each time, not just the new material.  It will give them a good review.

Chart Quizzes

Take charts from a blank (from the left menu) Weeks 4,7,11 and 14 each semester.  These need to be hand graded.  Just count how many words they fill out and have them mark the ones they miss in ANOTHER COLOR.  Take 1/4 point off for missing macrons or incorrect spelling.
