Challenge I
2022 UPDATE
STUDENT RESOURCES
LATIN RESOURCE NOTEBOOK
- Left Pocket - Vocabulary Resources by Lesson and by Part of Speech; Verbs only
- Middle - Charts and lots of HOW TO RESOURCES - I print pages 14-24 in color. This is the same version used in Ch B so no need to reprint if you already have it.
- Right - Grammar Q&A
- Semester 1 (same as Ch B so need to reprint if you already have it).
- Semester 2 (COMING SOON)
I print these pages and place in a 3 prong folder.I do not like these resources to be in the same folder as the exercises. Students should be able to open their charts while they are doing exercises to not have to flip back and forth.(This is a great resource for parents to quiz their own students)
THE STUDENT WORKBOOK
The student workbook is divided into 4 sections
- Vocabulary
- Grammar (& Charts)
- Exercises
- Readings
Students should work in each section of their notebooks EVERYDAY. I just have students include a removable tab for each section. That way they can flip to exactly where they need to be each day.
Semester 1 (253 pages) black & white printing
Semester 2 (240 pages) black & white printing
PARENT/DIRECTOR RESOURCES
DIRECTORS GUIDE FOR CHALLENGE I- INCLUDES EXORDIA, RECITATIONS, VOCAB & GRAMMAR PLANS, AND BLANK PLANNING SHEETS FOR LESSONS; if you need some help with pronunciation of the recitations, shoot me an email at kristiejfox@gmail.com and I might be able to help you.
PARSED SENTENCES
Semester 1 (Same as Challenge B so no need to reprint if you already have it)
These are parsed and labeled sentences from the lessons using the system described in the Latin Resource Notebook (LRN)
Don't forget to your resources on the new CC Connected they are super helpful!
Because there are so many words in Challenge I, I created a quiz document that chooses 20 words for Quizzes 1-4 each semester. 15 new words and 5 review words (except for the first one). Quiz 5 each semester is 100 words pulled from throughout the semester.
Verbally quizzing your student is still an option though. You can do this from their flashcards or from the Vocabulary list in the left pocket of the LRN. Quiz them, count how many they got correct and how many they had in total, and record the score on the last page of the LRN.
